Richard A. Stone is the author of Project Mayflower: Building and Sailing a 17th Century Replica (Lyons Press © 2024) and an upcoming book celebrating America 250 and her naval heritage (Lyons Press © 2026).
His maritime podcast series Sail Forth features conversations with ship captains, historians and thought leaders regarding America’s naval heritage from colonial times to the modern era. He gives listeners an inside look at maritime events that will honor America at 250 and beyond.
A graduate of Harvard University (BA in economics) and the University of California, Los Angeles (MA in journalism), he worked for decades with America’s premier media groups, including NBC, HBO, Time Inc., and ESPN/Disney. Britain’s Imperial War Museums (home of the Churchill War Rooms in London) has recognized him in its Subject Special Network for the Cold War and Late-20th Century.
Stone is the founder of Trajectory Sports & Media Group, LLC, and Mayflower Event News, an information platform devoted to America’s historic tall ships, including Mayflower and Mayflower II.
