Mayflower II is a national treasure like the Statue of Liberty. It has a deep meaning to most Americans because it speaks to our collective history as immigrants. It is the topic of a new best selling book, The Wicked Pilgrim by Randal Charlton.
The Rose® Parade will be carried LIVE on television networks reaching 120 million households in the USA starting at 8AM Pacific / 11 AM Eastern Time January 1, 2020. ABC, NBC, Hallmark Channel and Univision will provide broadcast coverage.
30 Million Americans can trace their ancestry to Mayflower passengers. Many of those descendants will be among the millions of people who will watch the ship and hear her story as major television networks from around the world cover the parade live. The Rose® Parade will also be carried LIVE on television networks worldwide.
The flower-covered float will tell the story of Mayflower’s voyage in 1620, and kick off a year of events celebrating her 400th Anniversary. Other key 2020 celebrations will be held in Boston, Plymouth and Provincetown, Massachusetts.
The California Mayflower Society is the state chapter of the General Society of Mayflower Descendants, which is based in Plymouth, Massachusetts.
